Katric ark

A katric ark is a polycrystalline vessel which was believed to have been used by ancient Vulcans to preserve their katras after their deaths.
A set of katric arks were once discovered at the P'Jem monastery, but repeated efforts by the Vulcan Science Academy failed to discover any katras inside the arks. (ENT episode: "The Awakening").
A group of Vulcan dissidents, known as the Sakethans, who left Vulcan hundreds of centuries ago, also used katric arks, which were placed inside their burial mounds. In 2371, in the mirror universe, Jean-Luc Picard discovered a large amount of katric arks stored in a burial mound on New T'Karath. (TNG novel: Glass Empires).
