• October 4, Sunderland draw 1-1 with Arsenal at the Stadium of Light with Cesc Fabregas cancelling out Grant Leadbitter's 86th minute stunner

• September 28- Sunderland loose 2-1 at Villa Park to Aston Villa, despite taking the lead after ten minutes through Djibril Cisse

• September 26- The Drumaville Consortium sell 30% of the shares of Sunderland A.F.C. to American buisnessman Ellis Short making him the majority shareholder at the club. Creating a joint ownership between him and the consortium, the chairman and board will not be affected.
